San Diego Mayoral Candidate Eric Bidwell
|
I was very impressed with Eric Bidwell's performance this evening in San Diego's mayoral debate. His online presence seems extremely radical, and the man doesn't by any conservative measure look electable, but his views matched many of my own.
1 question posed to the candidates revolved around problems with the city's employee pension fund.
Jerry Sanders (incumbent) responded with his plan to revoke or reduce the city's responsibility for New employees and eventually saving the city $25 - $30 million a year to be able to make good for their current pension responsibilities.
John Hart responded with his plan to declare bankruptcy and stop selling irresponsible bonds.
Eric Bidwell responded very simply. TAXES. While not necessarily taxing the working class citizens of the city, he proposes to tax the developers and local corporations leveling the responsibility on local big business to maintain the infrastructure of the city they have created their wealth on the back of.
Great Job getting as far as you have Eric!
